Academy push with Macadie storming up the right hand wing.
He skips a few tackles and squares into the box. The ball spun up and hit a
Fort defender on the arm. The Academy players called for a penalty but referee
MacDonald deemed it ball to arm and waved away their protests. Mackay is booked
for remonstrating too far.
A minute later and Academy are right back in the game. A
throw-in is taken to David Allan. He cut it back to Sam Mackay who fired at
goal. Keeper Campbell made a good block but the re-bound fell to Gary Weir and
he blasted home.
2 – 1
Fort are dealt a bit of a blow when their main danger-man
Sean Ellis picks up an injury and he has been replaced by Raymond Munro.
Academy now have a hold of the game by the scruff of the
neck and almost equalise. Macadie is release through the middle of the Fort
defence and went one-on-one with keeper Campbell, but the Fort man made a good
save.
With twenty minutes of the game left good pressing play by
the Scorries pays off and they level the scores. Gunn in the middle of the park
sprayed the ball out to Weir on the right. He slid Macadie into the right hand
channel and his goal-bound shot took a nick off Ian Foggo and landed in the
back of the net. Mackay followed it in, but it looked to be Macadie's goal.
2 – 2
Academy are throwing the kitchen sink at Fort William. Keeper
Campbell must be in the running for man of the match as he pulls of a string of
saves, two shots from Stevie Cunningham, one from Gary Weir and another attempt
from Martin Gunn.
Shane Sutherland comes on for Sam Mackay with 10 minutes
left, can Academy pull-off the perfect come-back?
Academy bombarded Fort William in closing stages with Shane Sutherland's dipping shot going just over the home sides cross-bar. Unfortunately the visitors ouldn't find the winner, so our search for an away win this
season continues.
