The first ever jackpot for the Wick Academy Scorries
Scoop draw was won last Monday night the 25th February when the lucky numbers were drawn in the
Seaforth club in Wick.
Mrs Marie Gilmour was the lucky winner, with her numbers
7, 14, 15, 16 and 18 pocketing her the accumulated jackpot prize of £3,700.
Marie buys her Scoop ticket every Thursday morning, and has been a regular
player since the draw started in August last year.
Chairman Colin Stewart said "I'm delighted that Marie
has won the draw. She was very pleased when I telephoned her to tell her that
her numbers had come up. I would like to thank everyone who has been purchasing
tickets since the draw started. The support for the ticket has been tremendous
and the income generated will be re-invested in the club. I would also like to
thank everyone who has been selling the tickets every week, and the shops around
the town who have been generous enough to allow us to sell the tickets on their
premises."
