Duncan Jones picked up a booking for the Can-Can's just
before the break and that concluded the first half action with Academy holding
a slender advantage.

Half Time – Forres Mechanics 0 – Wick Academy 1

2 minutes after the re-start Academy doubled their lead.
Grant Campbell was played through one-on-one with keeper Stuart Knight.
Campbell showed great composure and from the edge of the box stuck home with a
right footed shot for his first goal since re-joining the Scorries in the
summer.

0 – 2

5 minutes later the home side pulled themselves back into
the game. A corner on the right was fired in by Captain Simon Allan. Craig
McGovern
headed it into the ground and it bounced up into the net. In a
wrestling match to take the ball out of the net Michael Steven picked up a
booking.

1 – 2

Academy kept on the attack and on 58 minutes Macadie played
a neat one-two with Geruzel which sent Macadie free into the box but his left
foot shot across the face of goal went just wide of the post.

Forres almost levelled the scores when a cross from the left
by Craig McGovern found Lee Fraser free about 7 yards from goal and his glancing
header looked bound for the bottom corner but More got down to pull off a
superb save to tip it around his post.

Ten minutes from full-time Academy sealed the win. Steven
Anderson won the ball inside the Academy half and he drove forward at the Forres
defence. He played a one-two with Geruzel and found himself one-on-one with
keeper Knight who saved Anderson's first shot but the Academy striker reacted
quickly and stuck home the re-bound.

1 – 3

The home side created one final chance before the end of the
match when a Steven Fraser header was deflected off an Academy defender for a
corner.
