Inverurie Locos kept their 100% league record beating Academy
6-3 today at Harmsworth Park. Lukasz Geruzel and Grant Campbell were both
suspended and James Pickles picked up an injury in the pre-match warm-up.
Academy started well with Richard Macadie missing a good
chance before Jack Halliday opened the scoring with his first goal in Academy
colours. Locos then scored 4 unanswered goals from Gauld, Hunter, Still and
Ross in the space of 15 minutes to put the visitors in at half-time with a 4-1
lead.
Gary Weir pulled a goal back for the Scorries 8 minutes into
the second half, but Hunter and Ross went on to bag their second goals of the game before Bavidge
waded in with a goal of his own. Sam Mackay scored an injury time penalty but
the Locos took the points in this high-scoring encounter.
The last time Academy shipped 6 goals in a league game at
Harmsworth Park was in December 2007 when Forres Mechanics beat us by the same score-line
as today.
Wick took the lead in the 17th minute
when a cross-field pass from Richard Macadie put Jack Halliday clear to drill
the ball low past the advancing Andy Reid.

was pushed away by McCarthy but David Ross had an easy tap in at the back post.
