Formartine still top but Locos triumph in festive double
Inverurie Locos 2 – Formartine United 0
Inverurie came out on top at home to Formartine. The away side created numerous chances but it was the Locos who took the lead in the 30th minute, Neil Gauld set up Jordan Leyden to net past the keeper. Neil McLean sealed the points for the home side in the 67th minute when his 20 yard thunderbolt found the net.
Forres Mechanics 1 – Nairn County 2
Nairn had to come from behind to defeat Forres at Mosset Park. The home side took the lead five minutes after half-time when Craig McGovern out-jumped the Nairn keeper to head home. Glenn Main was shown two yellows in quick succession for Nairn but this did not deter the visitors and Stuart Leslie levelled in the 78th minute. Archie Macphee completed the scoring for Nairn with a header in the 82nd minute.
Strathspey Thistle 2 – Rothes 5
In the Speyside derby Rothes completed the double over Strathspey Thistle. Josh Peters put Strathspey ahead in the 5th minute but Michael Dunn levelled in the 13th minute, John Ross put Strathspey back in front before Liam Forbes once again brought Rothes level. Rothes took the lead for the first time just before half-time when Michael Smith netted. Calum McIntosh added a fourth before Joao Rodriguez completed the scoring.
Lossiemouth 3 – Buckie Thistle 1
Lossiemouth gained revenge with a fine win at home to Buckie. Buckie took the lead in 20th minute when Aaron Conway netted. Lossiemouth got back on level terms right on half-time thanks to Darren Bailey who cut in from the left to score. Jordan McBain put Lossiemouth ahead when his shot came down off the underside of the bar, the same player added a third to complete the scoring nodding the ball home.
Deveronvale 0 – Turriff United 0
Deveronvale and Turriff shared the spoils in their festive derby in an end to end game. Gary Harris and Martin Charlesworth came closest for their respective teams before Turriff sub Nick Gray saw his shot come back off the under-side of the bar.
Keith 1 – Huntly 2
Stuart Massie gave Keith the lead at home to Huntly in the 16th minute with a shot from 20 yards. Andrzej Kleczkowski levelled the scores in the 25th minute before the same player set up David Booth for a tap in in the 64th minute, Sean Keith then missed a penalty for the home side before David Clark hit post late on for Huntly.
Cove Rangers 0 – Fraserburgh 1
Fraserburgh took the lead away to Cove in the 22nd minute when Scott Barbour got on the end of a long ball to nip in front of the keeper to net. The closet Cove came to equalising was late on when Jonathan Smith saw his free-kick come back off the keeper's left hand post.
The game between Wick and Brora and Fort William and Clach were postponed.
