Academy continued to dominate play in the second half
but were kept at bay by a packed defence and the competent handling of
Ridgers.

Matteusz Bobrowski ploughed a lone furrow up front for the
visitors without having an opportunity to test Wick keeper Michael Gray.

On the hour mark Geruzel netted a delicate close ranged
header but was denied by the offside flag.

The best goal of the game in the 69th minute completed the
scoring. Sam Mackay made a solo run from inside his own half and fired a
spectacular 35 yard shot into the top right hand corner of Ridgers' net.

4 – 0

Gary Weir came off the bench and went past half a dozen blue
shirts in a mazy run along and around the 18 yard line but his left foot
effort was a disappointing finish. Another run saw him cut in from the left
along the bye line and slip the ball to Macadie who tapped it in from two
yards. This 'goal' was chalked off as the ball had gone out of play just as
Weir pulled it back for the cross.

James Murray came off the bench for 20 minutes and showed a
few promising touches but shot wide from 10 yards with a late chance.

Wick have the opportunity to complete a 100% home record for
the season when Deveronvale go to Harmsworth Park next Saturday, still needing
3 goals to complete a league 'ton'.
