It took Clach 14 minutes before they had any serious sort of
attempt on goal. Scott-Woodhouse had a shot from 20 yards out that went just
wide of Gray's right hand post.

Academy attacked again and ripped Clach apart up the right
wing. The ball was played over the top to Weir who ran in to the box. He took
his time and worked his way to the bye-line before squaring to Geruzel and he
hammered home with a right foot shot giving keeper Campbell no chance.

Mackay then had a free-kick that nicked off Geruzel who had
positioned himself on the end of the Clach wall, and the ball flew just past
the post.

Chris Ross was booked by referee Graham Elder after he and
Gray had a sprint to the ball at the edge of the Academy box. Gray got their
first and had a dramatic fall looking for a penalty, but Gray hadn't touched him.

On 26 minutes Clach won a free kick which was floated into
the Academy box by Sean Ellis. The ball bounced about before falling to Allan
Pollock who struck it goal-bound but Gray made a great save diving across to
his right pushing it past his post for a corner.

Half-Time – Wick Academy 3 – Clachnacuddin 0

Clach made a change for the start of the second half with
Sam Urquhart coming on for Michael Finnis.

Clach won a corner kick with 7 minutes of the second half
played. It was swung in and flew across the face of goal begging for a turn-in
but missed everyone and went out at the back post.

Clach are playing better this half and are pushing to try to
get back into the game. A long ball was played into the Academy box. Craig
Shearer took a swing to try to clear it but scuffed the ball which looped up
into the air and Gray did well under pressure to jump up and grab it.

Clach kept trying to get a goal back and Allan Pollock got a
shot on target but Gray was there yet again to dive down to his right and
gather the ball.

On 75 minutes Academy thought they'd scored again. Sam
Mackay broke down the left and ran into the box. Keeper Campbell came and
closed the angle and Mackay sent a little dink over his head but Campbell
managed to stretch up and got a hand to the ball deflecting it just past the
outside of the back post.

Clach won another corner that Grant Steven cleared off the line
as Academy battled to keep the clean sheet.

Manager Wilson made his debut for Academy when he came on
for Ross Allan, and he contributed to the next goal. The ball was played to him
just outside the Clach box and as he fell to the ground he managed to lay it
into the path of Geruzel who lifted the ball into the roof of the net for his hat-trick.
