Buckie drove back down-field from the kick-off and won a corner which Stephen Bruce almost converted but More was on-hand to make a fine stop.
Half Time 1 – 0
So with Buckie now having the advantage of the wind at their back it looked as if the Scorries may have to endure a difficult second half, but they started the brighter of the two sides, adapting to the conditions by keeping the ball on the deck with short crisp passes. This almost paid off with only 7 minutes of the half played when McKiddie slid Davie Cowie into the middle of the Buckie box and he let fly with a dipping right foot shot but it went just over the top of the cross-bar.
Buckie almost levelled the scores 3 minutes later when David MacRae picked up a loose ball 25 yards from goal and smacked a wind assisted shot on target. More went air-born and got finger-tips to the ball with a terrific save and tipped it over the top of the cross-bar.
Gregg Carroll made his first change in an attempt to get back into the game with 58 minutes played when he took on veteran striker Charlie Brown for Mike MacDonald.
With an hour gone Academy doubled their lead. Macadie played a neat one-two with Weir that sent Weir dashing through the heart of the Buckie defence and one-on-one with keeper Main. Weir kept his cool and slotted home his 8th league goal of the season, and the "Harmsworth Roar" was probably heard in Lybster as the home fans went wild.

Weir had a good chance for his second in the next Academy attack. Nigel MacKenzie drove up-field and slid Weir into the edge of the box. It looked as if he had a chance to shoot at goal, but he took an extra touch on the ball and was quickly crowded out by the Buckie defence.
Academy were playing some really neat controlled football and were by this stage in pretty much control of the game, and they were rewarded with another goal in the 71st minute. Cowie squared the ball after a run up the right wing and it broke to Macadie in the middle of the box. He controlled it and slotted home past Main.

Charlie Brown had a chance to get the hoops back into the game. Stewart Ross took a goal-kick which the wind drove back up-field where Brown picked it up but he screwed his shot well wide of target in what was a relatively easy chance for a striker of his experience.
The Scorries put the seal on a very impressive victory with only 6 minutes left to play. Stevie Cunningham skipped past 3 defenders with good close ball control and drove a low cross from the right into the Buckie box. Macadie was in perfect position to run in and beat Main to the ball and he stuck it home for his second of the game.

Both Forres and Nairn won their games today, so Academy remain in 10th place with a points total of 30 for their 20 games played, only 2 points short of last seasons total.
Next weekend Academy are home in the second round of the Fosters League Cup against Inverurie, and f they can keep-up this run of form the Locos are going to have a tough game on their hands.
