With the wind now at their backs, the visitors were
launching the ball long at every opportunity and from one such instance John
Cameron latched onto a Lee Fraser flick-on but he scuffed his effort to give
McCarthy an easy save.
Academy were finding plenty space on the counter-attack and
were inches away from extending their lead midway through the half when Sam
Mackay slipped in Anderson, but his effort cannoned off the inside of the post.
The match was end-to-end at times and it was Forres who were
next to threaten when Cameron found space in the box, but McCarthy was out
quickly to make a great save and smother the rebound.
Gary Weir replaced Maciver with quarter of an hour remaining
and the substitute had a great chance to seal all three points for Academy when
he was played through by Sam Mackay, only to see his first effort well blocked
by Knight and his rebound cleared off the line by Soane.
In the end it was a Forres sub who would strike the decisive
blow in the game with seven minutes remaining when Garry Tweedie, on the park a
matter of minutes, chested down a cross from the right and hit an excellent
half-volley into the top corner to earn the visitors a share of the spoils.
