Locos had the first half-chance of the second half when a Neil
McLean shot took a deflection and went wide of target.
On 50 minutes Academy doubled their advantage. Referee Liam
Duncan adjudged that Daniel Crisp fouled Steven Anderson inside the penalty area
and he pointed to the spot. Sam Mackay made no mistake clipping the penalty kick down the middle of the net
for his second goal of the match.

Mackay had a chance for his hat-trick but his well hit
effort was saved by keeper Scott Mathieson diving to his right to make the stop.
Davie Allan was replaced by Marc MacGregor and he only took
nine minutes to get himself on the score-sheet when he stuck home from an Academy
corner.
0 – 3
Four minutes later Locos gave themselves a life-line when
Daniel Crisp pulled a goal back heading home from close range to set up an anxious final quarter hour for the
Academy supporters.
1 – 3
McCarthy was called into action as he saved a shot from
substitute Martin Bavidge.
In the last minute of the game Ross Anderson had an attempt
that went over the cross-bar and Academy ran down the final seconds to claim a
great three points.
