Good football saw Academy come close again. MacGregor played
a one-two with Anderson up the left wing. MacGregor then released the ball to
James McLean on the edge of the Fraserburgh box but his side-footed effort went
just wide of the post.

In the last action of the first half Paul Campbell had a
neat exchange with Grant Noble allowing Noble to get a shot off but he hammered
it high and wide of target.

Half Time – Fraserburgh 0 – Wick Academy 1

Fraserburgh manager Mark Cowie made a change at the start of
the second half with Bailey Simpson coming on for Aidan Combe.

The first chance of the second half fell for Academy. A
great pass through the heart of the Fraserburgh defence by Davie Allan played
in Marc Macgregor. He drove into the box but sent his shot straight to keeper
Barbour.

Minutes later Davie Allan again split the Broch defence this
time playing in Gary Manson. Barbour came out to meet him and made a
goal-saving block.

Ryan Cowie delivered a cross up the other end of the park to
Paul Campbell who had a good attempt from a tight angle saved by Sean McCarthy.

Barbour was again in action in the Fraserburgh goal.  Richard Macadie played a long ball over the
top of the home defence that fell to Sam Mackay at the edge of the box but Barbour
came out quickly and blocked Mackay's attempt for a corner.

In the next attack Mackay found the net to double Academy's
lead. The ball was worked up the left flank to Steven Anderson on the edge of
the box. He went around his marker and sent in a cross that was headed down
into the path of Sam Mackay and he smacked home a delicious volley high passed
Barbour.

0 – 2

Academy pressed for more and Barbour was again called into
action, this time saving a MacGregor shot on the turn at his post.

Graham Johnston had a free-kick from the left that fizzed across
goal and went just past the post before Academy made it three. Sam Mackay played
the ball just inside the box to Davie Allan. He slipped it into Anderson who's
shot was saved by Barbour. The home defence failed to clear and in the middle
of it Davie Allan has bundled to the ground. Referee Shaw pointed to the spot
awarding Academy their second penalty of the match. Macadie stepped up and sent
it down the middle but this time Barbour made a good save getting his hand to the ball. Macadie however was
on hand to snap up the re-bound and he tucked it home under pressure from
covering defenders.

0 – 3

Less than a minute later and the game was beyond the reach
of Fraserburgh. A shot from Marc MacGregor was parried out by Barbour but it
fell to Steven Anderson and he couldn't miss.
