Message of thanks from Chairman James Innes
Wow! What a day for Wick Academy FC and everyone involved with the Club. We’ve finally lifted that elusive silverware that has been just beyond our reach on three previous Cup Final appearances. The expressions of euphoria, relief and even the odd tear in the eye for so many on Saturday afternoon had to be seen to be believed, and the huge turnout of Scorrie supporters to Dudgeon Park added to the most momentous day in the Clubs history to date.
It is a just reward for everyone connected with Wick Academy, and to name anyone in particular would be an injustice to those not mentioned. The Clubs success is a triangle that consists of three parts. Supporters and Sponsors, Players and Management and Committee and Volunteers. Without any one of those three elements, the Club wouldn’t have won the trophy on Saturday, so please, everyone involved with the Club, give yourselves a massive pat on the back!
Everyone at the Club strives to improve it, and there’s a feel good factor at Harmsworth Park just now, but no one is resting on their laurels, and we will continue to make changes and decisions for the better of the Club, your Club.
We have a senior cup in our boardroom for the first time, and everyone deserves to feel proud of it. You have all played a part. Thank you.
