A 2-2 draw last Saturday meant that the teams knew before
going into this replay that the prize for the winner was a home tie in the 3rd
round against Linlithgow Rose. It was Academy that claimed that prize as they
returned to playing their best football to hand out a resounding 5-1 beating to
visitors Nairn County.

Two first half goals on the quarter hour in as many minutes from
Davie Allan and Richard Macadie sent them on their way, but Conor Gethins
thumped home to pull a goal back.

Gary Weir restored the two goal cushion with a great header
from a Sam Mackay free kick to put the Scorries in at the break 3-1 up.

Davie Allan scored his second of the game with 12 minutes
left to open up clear breathing space, and Sam Mackay left the best to last
when he scored with a fantastic chip from the edge of the penalty area with a
goal that must yet again put him in the running for the goal of the round.
