A ding-dong cup-tie at Station Park today saw Nairn County twice
coming from behind to earn a 2-2 draw. The sides will need to do it all over
again now next Saturday in the replay at Harmsworth Park with a place in the 3rd round at stake.
Cup goal specialist Gary Weir opened the scoring in the 28th
minute when he got onto the end of a Richard Macadie cross and fired high into
the roof of the net.
A minute before the half-time break it was all-square when Wayne
Mackintosh drilled home a low left foot shot.
On 76 minutes Academy regained the lead when Sam Mackay took
a touch from a Davie Allan cross and he fired home into the bottom corner of
the net.
Nairn kept coming and with 11 minutes of the game left Sam
Urquhart converted to restore parity.
Both sides had chances in the game to win it with keepers at
both ends making good stops.
Full match report to follow.
