Following the 2-2 draw are Harmsworth Park last weekend it
was Academy's turn to hit the road with a visit to Ferguson Park to face
Whitehill Welfare in the William Hill Scottish Cup 1st round replay.

Academy were without the services of the Steven brothers
today who couldn't make the trip due to work commitments.

Academy got off to a great start with Sam Mackay and Steven
Anderson scoring to put the Scorries in at the break two goals to the good.

Welfare keeper Bryan Young saved Richard Macadie penalty to
keep the lead at two.

Anthony Muir pulled a goal back for the home sided before
Sam Mackay bagged his second of the game to restore the advantage.

Whitehill showed their battling spirit as Muir
again got on the score-sheet to set up a tense finish.

Academy however held out and now face an away tie against
Nairn County on the 24th October in the second round.
