Disappointing defeat as Academy fail to take their
chances – 25th July 2015
Wick Academy 0 – Clachnacuddin 3 –
Academy were made to pay for a series of missed chances in the first half when
Gordon Morrison gave Clach the lead in the 53rd minute. Morrison added a second
from the penalty spot before completing his hat-trick twelve minutes from time
for a disappointing home defeat for the Scorries.
Cove Rangers 5 – Buckie Thistle 2 –
Jonny Smith gave Cove the lead at home to Buckie in the 33rd minute before Eric
Watson nodded home a second just before half time. Connor Scully added a third
just after the interval before Drew Copeland pulled one back. Smith added his
second in the 74th minute but Chris Angus pulled another back. Smith completed
his hat-trick in stoppage time with a free-kick.
Deveronvale 2 – Fraserburgh 2 –
Fraserburgh took the lead away to Deveronvale in the 10th minute when Graham
Johnston scored a header, Johnston added a second just before half time with a
strike from 35 yards. Gary Harris pulled one back just after half time before
scoring again after the hour to grab a draw for Deveronvale.
Formartine United 1 – Forres Mechanics 0 –
Martin Wood scored the only goal of the game in the 43rd minute when he headed
home a Stuart Smith cross to give Formartine all three points at home to
Forres.
Fort William – 1 – Strathspey Thistle 2 –
Josh Peters gave Strathspey the lead away to Fort William in the 17th minute
with a composed finish before an own goal from Andrew McPherson in the 47th
minute doubled Strathspey's advantage. Darren Quigg scored a consolation for
Fort William two minutes later from the penalty spot.
Nairn County 1 – Inverurie Locos 0 – A
goal from Conor Gethins in the 52nd minute was enough to give Nairn all three
points at home to Inverurie.
Rothes 1 – Keith 4 – A
goal after 35 seconds from Mike Ewen got Keith off to a flyer away to Rothes
before Ewen added a second from the spot just before half time. Craig Cormack
added a third with fifteen minutes remaining but Craig McMillan pulled one back
from the spot before Stuart Massie wrapped up the points.
Turriff United 5 – Huntly 1 –
Turriff took the lead at home to Huntly in the 24th minute when Aaron McKenna
netted. Artjoms Kuznecovs added a second eight minutes later before Andrew
MacAskill added a third just before the break. Two quick goals just after the
interval from Leslez Nowosielski and Nick Gray had Turriff on easy street
before James Dugid netted a consolation for Huntly.
Brora Rangers 0 – Alloa
Athletic 1 – Brora lost out to Alloa in the Petrofac Cup when
Geoff Mitchell netted the only goal of the game just after half time.
