Weir came close to increasing the lead but it was the home
side that were next to get on the score-sheet. Matthew McDonald got the right
flank bye-line and fired in a low cross which Graeme Williamson fumbled and the
ball crossed the line for an unfortunate own-goal.

1 – 2

Half Time – Keith 1 – Wick Academy 2

The first chance after the re-start fell to Academy. Gary Manson
played the ball to Gary Weir to square to Steven Anderson but his left foot
shot was saved by the keeper.

Keith squared the scores in the 54th minute. Michael Ewen
delivered a low cross into the Academy box which got a flick onto Hamish
Ritchie
and he made no mistake in tucking it home.

2 – 2

Two minutes later Academy regained the lead. Davie Allan was
voted as the supporters' Player of the Year last weekend and he showed why when
he got the ball within sight of goal and drilled a perfectly struck low drive
into the bottom right hand corner of the net.

2 – 3

Academy then had multiple chances to increase the scoring.
Steven Anderson had a shot on target that was saved for a corner kick by keeper
Dey. The Keith keeper found himself in the action again moments later. A
Richard Macadie free-kick found Grant Campbell on the edge of the box. He chipped
the ball over the top for Sam Mackay who went one-on-one with the keeper, but
Sam took a touch too many allowing Dey to close him down and make a smart save
with his feet.

Academy kept on the attack. This time Seven Anderson hit the
by-line and delivered a cross to the back post for Richard Macadie. Macadie
took the ball down but his shot was saved at the post by the keeper.

Another chance fell to Academy that they couldn't convert.
Gary Manson played the ball up-field to Davie Allan. He ran into the box and
squared for Macadie who had a great chance to convert but he side-footed the
ball past the outside of the post.

Academy looked threatening in every attack. Weir played the
ball into the feet of Macadie who slipped it onto Anderson but from 15 yards
out keeper Dey again made a great save with his feet.
