Fools' Day Fitba – 1st April 2015
After
heavy rain over two or three days and with hail and sleet sweeping across
Harmsworth Park, the 12.30 pitch inspection was little more than a formality.
As well as the Wick Academy-Strathspey Thistle postponement, the Rothes-Fort
William fixture was also an early victim of the wintry weather. Clachnacuddin v
Turriff United was called off after a 2.30 check at Grant Street.
Buckie Thistle 1 – Cove Rangers 5 –
Daryl Nicol (16) and Stewart Walker (41) gave Cove a 2-0 interval lead and
Connor Scully (59) made it 3-0 before Shaun Carroll (64) reduced the deficit.
Two more goals from Blair Yule (79) and Daniel Park (88) made sure that Cove
went third in the table, overtaking Wick.
Forres Mechanics 2 – Inverurie Locos 1 –
Steven Fraser (30) scored for Forres who went down to 10 men when Graeme Grant
was sent off just before half time. Neil McLean (75) equalised for Locos but
Ross Archibald (90+1) was the Cans' hero with a stoppage time winner.
Nairn County 0 – Brora Rangers 3 – Ross
Tokely's header (4) soon set Brora on their way. Zander Sutherland (28) with a
penalty after he was fouled in the box and Grant Munro (51) with a header
completed a comfortable win for the champions.
