Nairn progress in HL Cup & Turriff go top of the

Cove Rangers 3 – Inverurie Locos 2 –
Daryl Nicol gave Cove the lead in the 25th minute at home to Inverurie from 25
yards. Nicol added a second in the 46th minute when he linked up with Stuart
Duff. An own goal from Ryan Broadhurst had Cove on easy street but Inverurie
pulled on back in the 81st minute with an own goal from Cove keeper Sandy Wood.
Andy Hunter pulled another back but Cove hung on for all three points.
Turriff United 3 – Huntly 0 –
Turriff took the lead at home to Huntly in the 11th minute when Gary McGowan
netted from the penalty spot. Andy MacAskill added a second in the 36th minute
before McGowan completed the scoring in the 74th minute.
Nairn County 4 – Fort William 0 – The
only other game to beat the weather was the second Highland League Cup
preliminary game between Nairn and Fort William. The hosts opened the scoring
in the 26th minute when Conor Gethins chipped the ball home. Sam Urquhart added
a quick fire second for the host netting a rebound. Robbie Duncanson added a
third in the 80th minute before Gethins completed the scoring.
All other games were
postponed.
