Academy knocked out of Scottish Cup at 1st hurdle –
13th Sept 2014

Huntly 2 – Wick Academy 1 – In Scottish Cup first round action Gary Weir gave Wick
Academy the lead away to Huntly in the 34th minute netting at the second
attempt. Two penalties from David Booth in the 51st and 88th minute ensured
Huntly progressed to round two. 

Auchinleck Talbot 5 – Buckie Thistle
0 – Graham Wilson gave Auchinleck the lead at home to Buckie in the 8th minute
before David Gormley added a second just after half-time. Wilson got his second
before Gordon Pope scored with a free kick in the 73rd minute. Kenny Connelly completed
the scoring four minutes later to put Buckie out the cup.

Clachnacuddin 1 – Hurlford United 7 – Clach opened the scoring at home to junior
cup winners Hurlford in the 17th minute when Gordon Morrison netted from the
spot. Stewart Kean levelled from the spot to make it all square at half-time.
Paul McKenzie made it two before Kean completed his hat-trick. Chris Robertson
added a double before McKenzie got his second. 

Cove Rangers 9 – Hawick Royal Albert 0 – Cove scored nine without reply at home to Hawick
and opened the scoring in the 4th minute thanks to Daryl Nicol. Daniel Park
made it two before Nicol got his second. Michael Selfridge made it 4-0 after 11
minutes before Jonny Smith made it five. Blair Yule added a sixth early in the
second half before Smith got his second. Selfridge got another two goals to
complete his hat-trick and round off a good day for Cove.

Culter 4 – Strathspey Thistle 2 –
Culter took the lead in the sixth minute at home to Strathspey when Alan Smith
diverted the ball past his own keeper. Sam Smith made it 2-0 shortly after
before Michael Taylor added a third in the 19th minute. Josh Peters pulled one
back for Strathspey before Taylor added his second with 12 minutes remaining.
Peters grabbed his second for Strathspey in what was a consolation goal. 

Deveronvale 0 – Nairn County 1 –
Sean Webb got the only goal of the game for Nairn away to Deveronvale in the
13th minute when he reacted quickest to a header off the cross bar.

Forres Mechanics 4 – Civil Service Strollers 1 – Forres had to come from behind to defeat
Civil Service Strollers who took the lead in the 5th minute when Scott Ritchie
netted from the spot. Stuart Soane equalised for Forres just after half-time
when he netted from 25 yards. Kyle Scott added two quick fire goals just after
the hour to put Forres in control before Ross Archibald rounded off the
scoring. 

Fraserburgh 0 – Linlithgow Rose 0 –
Fraserburgh and Linlithgow played out a nil-nil draw with a replay now required
to determine who goes into the next round.

Keith 1 – Formartine United 3 –
Paul Napier gave Formartine the lead away to Keith when he headed home a cross.
Napier then set up Sam French to net before Robbie Collinson pulled one back
for Keith. French got his second goal of the game to ensure Formartine
progressed to round two. 

Lossiemouth 0 – Turriff United 0 –
Nick Gray gave Turriff the lead away to Lossiemouth in the 13th minute glancing
home a header.  Gary McGowan added a
second before late goals from Artjoms Kuznecovs and Aaron Shand sealed the tie.

Rothes 0 – Banks O' Dee 4 – Phil McCall
gave junior side Banks O'Dee the lead away to Rothes in the 10th minute before
Davie Wilson added a second. McCall got his second before Max Berton completed
the scoring late on.

for Maclean as Brora go back to top of league – 13th Sept 2014

Fort William 2 – Brora Rangers 6 – In
the only league game Fort William took the lead at home to Brora when Nick
Stein netted from 35 yards. Colin Maclean went on to score five goals for Brora
before Barna Tot netted from the spot. Maclean had the last say though when he
scored his and Brora's sixth to seal all three points.
