bus as it left Wick last night the Club has the following statement.
We are very upset and disappointed to hear about the
incident that occurred when the Brora Rangers Supporters bus was leaving Wick.
The people that carried out this act are not fans, they simply use the game as
an excuse to cause trouble. Police Scotland were escorting the bus as it left
the town when the incident happened and hopefully the perpetrators can be
caught.
We are very glad that no one was injured by the shattered
window, and we can't understand the mind set of people who do these sort of
things. No one could have anticipated anyone hiding on the outskirts of town
waiting for the bus to pass. We would encourage people with any information
regarding the incident to contact Police Scotland.
Brora Rangers FC had received our away fan safety correspondence two weeks prior to the game and raised no queries, and worked with us after the
same tie in March which led to one Brora fan and three Wick Academy fans being
given year long bans. This time there were no major incidents within Harmsworth
Park which had Police presence as well as club stewards working alongside
trained and licenced stewards brought in by the club. The vast majority of fans
watched the match and engaged with good natured banter and left the ground in a
friendly manner.
If Police Scotland identify who was responsible for this
mindless act Wick Academy will impose lifetime bans for future entry to Harmsworth
Park to those involved. This sort of behaviour will simply not be tolerated by
the Club.
