League roundups – 3rd Sept 2014
Inverurie Locos 1 – Nairn County 1 – Locos and Nairn shared a 1-1 draw at Harlaw
Park. Conor Gethins converted on the half-hour to give the visitors the lead
but Andy Hunter levelled proceedings 4 minutes into the second half. Locos
dominated the remainder of the game but couldn't find a winner.
Lossiemouth 2 – Rothes 0 – Ryan Farquhar
opened the scoring for Lossie just before the quarter hour to take them in at
the break with a goal advantage. Shawn Scott doubled the advantage 5 minutes
after the re-start to earn Lossiemouth a valuable 3 points.
Strathspey Thistle 3 – Fort William 3 – Strathspey and Fort William served up a
mid-week cracker as they shared 6 goals. First half goals from Joshua Peters
and Adam McLeod looked to have the home side well in command but Sean Grant
pulled one back for Fort in stoppage time. Peters scored his second of the game
to restore the advantage but the home side would not be beat and Nicolas Stein
chipped in with a double of his own to earn the visitors a share of the points.
Turriff United 2 – Cove Rangers 0 – Turriff United recorded a great win over
visitors Cove Rangers. Their start to the game could not have been any better
when referee Anthony Cooper awarded them with a penalty inside the first minute which Andrew MacAskill dispatched past keeper Craig Reid. 1o minutes later Turriff sealed the win when Jamie Beagrie doubled their advantage.
