goal enough for a Nairn County win – 20th Aug 2014

Wick Academy 0 – Nairn County 1
Nairn grabbed their first win of the season away to Wick Academy when Conor
Gethins scored the only goal of the game in the second half when he picked up a
long cross field ball and fired the ball across the keeper into the back of the
net.

Buckie Thistle 2 – Formartine United 3 – The
prolific Cammy Keith gave Formartine the lead away to Buckie in the 4th minute
when he capitalised on a short back pass to clip the ball past the keeper.
Keith added a second from the penalty spot in the 20th minute when he sent the
keeper the wrong way. Buckie pulled a goal back in the 35th minute when Callum
Bagshaw headed past his own keeper. Craig McKeown restored Formartine's two
advantage in the 41st minute when he scored from a tight angle. Lewis MacKinnon
scored a consolation for Buckie in the 83rd minute but it was too late to mount
a comeback. 

Deveronvale 6 – Strathspey Thistle 3
Craig Cowie opened the scoring for Deveronvale after 9 minutes against
Strathspey but Strathspey equalised in the 16th minute thanks to Alan Dorian.
Martin Charlesworth scored from the spot in the 17th minute to put Vale back in
front before two goals in five minutes from Craig Simpson and Philip Watt
looked to have the Vale on easy street but Adam McLeod pulled one back.
Charlesworth added his second in the 56th minute before completing his hatrick
in the 69th minute. McLeod pulled one back for Strathspey.

Fraserburgh 2 – Turriff United 1
Turriff took the lead away to Fraserburgh just before half time from the
penalty spot after Bryan Hay had handled on the line, Gary Harris took the
resultant kick and scored. Fraserburgh equalised in the 50th minute when Scott
Barbour turned his marker to net. Peter-Alexander Bruce scored the winner for
the home side when he netted from Graham Johnston's knockdown. 

Huntly 1 – Cove Rangers 4
Jonathan Smith gave Cove the lead in the 19th minute away to Huntly with a side
footed finish. Daryl Nicol made it two seven minutes later when he netted from
a tight angle. Clark Bain netted a third just before half time before Blair
Yule netted a fourth just after half time from a rebound. Huntly pulled a goal
back with 20 minutes remaining when Chris Clark scored an own goal.

Inverurie Locos 3 – Keith 0 – Last
season's top scorer Neil Gauld gave Inverurie the lead in the 34th minute at
home to Keith when he latched onto a Dean Donaldson flick. Martin Bavidge added
a second in the 50th minute when he curled the ball home from the edge of the
box. Gordon Forsyth added a third on the hour mark to complete the scoring when
he headed the ball home. 

Lossiemouth 1 – Forres Mechanics 2
Forres took the lead away to Lossiemouth in the third minute when a Scott
Miller back pass skidded on the wet park past his own keeper. Scott Moore got a
second for Forres in the 19th minute when he got on the end of a Kyle Scott
header to net. Miller redeemed himself just before half time when he netted
from a rebound but Forres managed to hold on and grab the points.

Rothes 0 – Clachnacuddin

– Clach recorded a comprehensive win away to Rothes and were four goals to the
good by half time with Andrew Skinner, David Chambers, Martin Laing and David
Watson all netting. Further second half goals from Ross Grant and David McGurk
completed the scoring.
