suffer disappointing heavy home defeat – 16th Aug 2014

Wick Academy 3 – Inverurie Locos 6 – Jack
Haliday gave Wick Academy the lead in the 17th minute at home to Inverurie but
three goals in 5 minutes put the visitors ahead. Neil Gauld got the first
before Andy Hunter and Ross still scored. David Ross added a fourth before Gary
Weir pulled one back. Ross added a second before Martin Bavidge completed the
scoring for Inverurie. Sam Mackay pulled one back from the penalty spot late on. 

Brora Rangers 8 – Turriff United 0
Martin Maclean gave Brora a first half lead before the floodgates opened,
Steven Mackay added a second just after half-time from the spot before
Sutherland scored with a cross cum shot. Colin Williamson added a fourth before
Sutherland got his second. Sutherland then got his hat-trick direct from a
corner before Danny Mackay scored from outside the box. Steven Mackay then
completed the scoring with a second penalty.

Clachnacuddin 4 – Keith 2
Martin Callum gave Clach an early lead at home to Keith but Bruce Milne
levelled the scores in the 17th minute. David Watson put Clach back in front in
the 58th minute before Daniel McLennan added a third in the 68th minute. Iain
Penwright added a fourth for Clach in the last minute before Sean Keith scored
a consolation for Keith. 

Forres Mechanics 5 – Buckie Thistle 0
Scott Moore opened the scoring for Forres at home to Buckie before further
goals in the first half from Lee Fraser and Kris Duncan had Forres on
easy-street. Craig McGovern added a fourth before Ross Archibald completed the
scoring.

Lossiemouth 1 – Deveronvale 1
Scott Dunn gave Lossiemouth the lead halfway through the first half at home to
Deveronvale but Martin Charlesworth equalised on the stroke of half-time to
ensure Deveronvale grabbed a share of the points. 

Rothes 0 – Fraserburgh 8
Willie West gave Fraserburgh a half-time lead away to Rothes before the Broch
went goal crazy in the second half. Courtney Cooper added a second before Scott
Barbour added a third. Barbour got his second from a rebound before Cooper
scored with a header. Cooper grabbed a fourth before Barbour completed his
hat-trick.

Strathspey Thistle 1 – Formartine United 5
Craig McKeown gave Formartine the lead in the 6th minute away to Strathspey
before Paul Napier added a second in the 20th minute. Sam French added a third
for Formartine just after half-time but Adam Macleod pulled one back for
Strathspey before French added his second and third goals to complete the
scoring. 

Scottish Cup preliminary round:

Glasgow University 1 – Cove Rangers 9 – In
Scottish cup preliminary action Cove scored 9 away to Glasgow University, Jamie
watt got a hat-rick in the first half. Two quick goals just after half-time
from Blair Yule and Connor Scully had Cove on easy street. Jonathan Smith made
it six before the uni side pulled one back, Jamie Lennox scored two quick goals
before Michael Selfridge completed the scoring.

Edinburgh City 5 – Fort
William 0
– Fort William travelled to Edinburgh to play
Edinburgh City in the other preliminary tie but left empty handed after getting
beat 5-0.
