Straight from the re-start Weir almost scored Academy's 3rd.
Macadie was again provider as he flighted a great pass into Weir but keeper
Campbell pulled off a point-blank save to deny Weir a goal.
At the other end McCarthy was in action when he pulled off
the best save of the night to deny Scott MacLean whose shot looked goal-bound.
Academy controlled the remainder of the game and had two
more chances to increase the scoring before full-time.
Jack Halliday fed substitute Steven Anderson who ran in on
goal but rather than having a pop himself he squared to Macadie who was in an off-side
position.
Then at the death Sam Mackay crossed to Macadie but his first-time
effort fizzed just wide of target.

The win sees Academy through to the semi-final where we will
face current Cup holders Brora Rangers at Harmsworth Park in what should be a cracker.
