Connelly picks up a point in 1st game in charge
Forres Mechanics 2 – Wick Academy 2
Wick Academy took the lead away to Forres in the 14th
minute, Stevie Cunningham floated a free-kick into the Forres box and ball came
off the head over a Forres player and found Gary Weir who volleyed home. Two
minutes later and it was 2-0, Richard Macadie squared for Lukasz Geruzel to tap
home. Kris Duncan pulled one back right on half-time when he netted with a
header. Forres equalised in the 59th minute when Simon Allan cut in
from the right to fire an unstoppable shot into the top corner to ensure a
share of the points.
Inverurie Locos 1 – Brora Rangers 2
Inverurie made Brora work hard for the three points at
Harlaw Park. Locos applied some early pressure but were hit on the counter
attack in the 17th minute and Zander Sutherland netted with the aid
of a deflection off a defender. Inverurie equalised in the 55th
minute when Neil Gauld netted from a Neil McLean free-kick. Just a minute later
Brora scored what turned out to be the winner, Sutherland got the deftest of
touches on a cross to guide the ball home.
Rothes 2 – Clachnacuddin 4
Clach secured another win away to Rothes to continue their
fine run of form. Kyle Whyte headed Clach into the lead in the 7th
minute before Paul Brindle headed home a second in the 33rd minute.
Joao Rodriguez got one back for Rothes when he got on the end of a punt from
the keeper to net. Clach then grabbed a quick fire double through Scott Graham
and Whyte who added his second. Rothes netted a second when a mistake in the
Clach defence allowed Rodriguez to net.
Turriff United 2 – Nairn County 3
Turriff opened the scoring at home to Nairn in the 28th
minute when Gary Harris slotted the ball home. Turriff doubled their advantage
in the 74th minute thanks to Gary McGowan who got past a defender to
net. Within a minute Nairn pulled a goal back thanks to Robbie Duncanson. Nairn
equalised near the end thanks to a superb lob from Michael Morrison before
Archie Macphee scored the winner for Nairn in the dying seconds.
Strathspey Thistle 2 – Fraserburgh 3
Fraserburgh took the lead in the 10th minute away
to Strathspey when the on-form Scott Barbour netted. Strathspey levelled six
minutes later thanks to John Ross. Fraserburgh retook the lead in the 37th
minute when Barbour netted from the spot. Gary Kerr equalised once again for
Strathspey just two minutes later but Willie West netted midway through the
second half to give Fraserburgh the points.
The games between Fort William and Lossiemouth, Deveronvale
and Buckie, Formartine and Huntly and Keith and Cove were all postponed due to
waterlogged pitches.
