Deveronvale claim the Christmas spoils at Harmsworth Park


Wick
Academy 2 – Deveronvale 3

Deveronvale
took the lead at Harmsworth Park in the 5th minute when Craig Cowie
intercepted a slack pass to net after charging down Michael Gray's attempted
clearance. Wick were back on level terms in the 13th minute when
Alan Farquhar headed home a Stevie Cunningham free-kick. Graeme Rodger put the
Vale back in front in the 22nd minute before Ross Aitken added a 3rd
in the second half with a wind assisted free-kick, Wick pulled one back within
two minutes thanks to Richard Macadie but the Vale managed to hold on for the
three points.

Forres
Mechanics 2 – Clachnacuddin 1

Forres
took the lead at home to Clach in the 29th minute when Kyle Scott
headed past the keeper. Three minutes before half-time Clach equalised, Sean
Ellis found the back of the net via the post. Forres were quickly back in
front, Scott Lawrie scored with an unstoppable 30 yard shot to give Forres the
three points and some Christmas cheer.

Inverurie
Locos 7 – Rothes 0

Inverurie
Locos scored seven without reply at home to Rothes. The Locos opened the
scoring in the 14th minute when Martin Bavidge netted from 20 yards.
Neil Gauld added the second when Dean Donaldson's shot came back off the keeper
and hit him. Bavidge added a second with a superb drive from 20 yards. David
Ross added a fourth in the 71st minute wrong footing the keeper.
Gauld added his second and Locos fifth before he completed his hat-trick to
make it six. In stoppage time Gauld added a fourth when the keeper could only
help his corner into the net.

Brora
Rangers 0 – Fraserburgh 1

Brora
suffered their first defeat of the season at home to Fraserburgh. The home side's
best chance of the game came just before half-time when a wind assisted
free-kick from Zander Sutherland was saved by the keeper. The winning goal came
in the 61st minute when Ryan Cowie netted with a daisy cutter from
25 yards.

Keith
0 – Formartine United 2

Formartine
took advantage of Brora's slip up to move back to the top of the table with a
2-0 win away to Keith. The opening goal came in the 31st minute when
defender Stuart Smith smashed the ball into the roof of the net. Formartine
added a second 3 minutes before half-time to complete the scoring, Daniel Park
squared the ball for Michael Ewen to tap home into the empty net.

Lossiemouth
0 – Nairn County 5

Conor
Gethins scored four of Nairn's five goals away to Lossiemouth to keep them in
touch with the top of the table. Gethins scored his first with a volley across
the keeper. Gethins added his second midway through the second half with a 25
yard free-kick. Gethins completed his hat-trick with another free-kick before
getting his fourth with a tap in. Gary Kerr added a 5th in stoppage
team as Nairn went nap.

Cove
Rangers 4 – Buckie Thistle 1

Cove
took the lead at home to Buckie in the 27th minute when Ryan Stott
netted from the penalty spot. Cove's second came after Stott's shot was blocked
Jamie Lennox was on hand to net. Martin Johnston added a third in the 47th
minute before Jonny Smith completed the scoring for the home side. Buckie's new
signing Andy Low scored a late consolation for the away side.
