Academy had Davie
Allan, James Pickles and Grant Steven all missing today due to injuries and
they it took an 85 minute winner to secure the 3 points against visitors Keith.
Keith keeper Iain
MacLeod pulled of a great save in the 25th minute to deny Craig
Shearer. The Keith keeper then pulled off two further good blocks as he
thwarted both Richard Macadie and Sam Mackay.
Michael Gray was
then called into action as he pulled off a diving save to stop an Andy
MacAskill shot.
Keith should have
scored the opened when substitute Sam Smith found himself unmarked at the back
post but he could not steer the ball into the empty net.
In the next attack
Gary Weir got to the Keith by-line and he cut it back into the box where if flicked
off defender Mark Wood and spun into the net. Weir celebrated with his
team-mates as he claimed the all-important goal to keep the Scorries in second spot in the table.
