Weir scores a hat-trick as Academy demolish Rothes

Rothes 0 – Wick Academy 7
 
New Rothes manager Graham Roy had a debut to forget thanks to a great performance from Wick Academy. The Scorries took the lead on 21 minutes when Gary Weir got on the end of a Michael Stevens flick-on to volley home. Sam Mackay added a second after 33 minutes when he fired home a low shot. Weir added his second 2 minutes later when he fired low into the net from the edge of the box. Weir completed his hatrick just after the hour mark cutting in from the right and firing a low shot home. Lukasz Geruzel came off the bench to set up James Pickles and Mackay to score before the big pole completed the scoring with a goal of his own with 10 minutes to go.
 
Forres Mechanics 0 – Brora Rangers 1
 
Brora maintained their 100% start to the season winning 1-0 away to Forres. The only goal of the game came after 5 minutes. Andrew Grieg cut in from the right and saw his shot saved by the keeper, but the rebound fell to Martin Mclean who made no mistake. Forres were reduced to 10 men in the second half after Ross Macpherson picked up two yellow cards.
 
Inverurie Locos 2 – Nairn County 5
 
Inverurie Locos lost their 100% record at home to Nairn but they took the lead with the first attack of the game. Martin Bavidge netted after picking up the ball from a loose header. Connor Gethins got Nairn level soon after when he fired a superb free-kick past Andy Reid. Two goals in seven minutes swung the tie the way of the home side. Stuart Leslie fired home before Sean Webb scored a close range header. Bavidge added a second for Locos to give them hope but Gethins completed his hat-trick with a header and a composed finish to put Nairn nap and complete the scoring.
 
Deveronvale 3 – Huntly 2
 
Deveronvale got the better of Huntly at Princess Royal Park. The Vale took the lead after five minutes when Graeme Rodger fired home from eight yards. Six minutes later Huntly were level when Andrzez Kleckowski scored from close range. Martin Charlesworth added a second for Vale after 26 minutes when he netted from the penalty spot. Five minutes into the second half Huntly equalised for a second time with David Booth netting from ten yards. Deveronvale made sure of the points on 69 minutes when Graeme Watt and Craig Cowie linking up for the latter to grab the decisive goal.
 
Strathspey Thistle 2 – Clachnacuddin 1
 
Strathspey Thistle picked up their first win of the season thanks to a 2-1 home win against Clachnacuddin. Clach took the lead on 37 minutes when Kyle Whyte picked up the ball from a corner to turn it into the net. The Jags got back on level terms midway through the second half thanks to a close range finish from Ronnie Jones. The hosts got their winner with four minutes to go when Terry Swinton turned the ball home.
 
Keith 0 – Buckie Thistle 2
 
Buckie Thistle won 2-0 away to Keith in a game that was marred by the injury time leg break of Keith sub Gary McNamee. Buckie took the lead in the 16th minute when Neil Davidson got on the end of a long range Aaron Conway cross to head home at the far post. Buckie added their second in the 89th minute when Jordan Sutherland set up Nikki Smith who netted from 15 yards.
 
Turriff United 1 – Formartine United 4
 
Turriff lost 4-1 at home to Formartine but it was the hosts who took the lead in the 29th minute when a Gary Harris shot was parried into the path of Gary McGowan who scored from the rebound. Formartine levelled when Cammy Keith picked up a rebound to fire past the keeper. Keith added a second in the 59th minute from the penalty spot after he had been fouled. Michael Ewen added a third in the 89th minute when he beat the offside trap to fire home. Cammy Keith completed his hat-trick in stoppage time when he fired past the keeper.

Newton Stewart 3 – Fort William 1
 
Fort William lost their Scottish Cup replay away to Newton Stewart. The home side took the lead after half an hour when Liam Muir fired home. Muir added his second seven minutes before halftime. Fort William made it hard for themselves just before halftime when Michael Gillespie was shown a second yellow card. Just after the hour mark Fort gave themselves hope when Darren Quigg netted from the spot but Newton Stewart made sure of their place in the second round when Muir completed his hat-trick.
 
Culter 3 – Lossiemouth 1
 
In the other replay Lossiemouth lost out away to Junior side Culter. Lossiemouth took the lead just after the hour mark when Willie Mathers netted. Culter were back on level terms with quarter of an hour left through George McBain. McBain added his and Culter's second with four minutes remaining before Culter added a third deep into injury time when Allan Youngson netted past the Lossie keeper.
