Just before the half-time whistle Academy doubled their
advantage. Academy won a corner that lead to a stramash in the Vale penalty area.
They failed to clear it and it fell to Alex Lamb and he smashed it into the
back of the net from 10 yards out.

0 – 2

Half Time: Deveronvale 0 – Wick Academy 2

Vale made two changes for the start of the second half with
Robert Morrice and Kris Duncan coming on for Shawn Scott and Colin
Charlesworth.

Academy had an early scare when a low shot from Kris Duncan came through a crowded
area, flew across goal and thumped off the base of the post.

McConnachy was back in action again minutes later when Weir
drove on goal and forced another good save as he pushed the ball for a corner
with his legs.

Academy went 3 up on the hour. Shearer collected the ball in
the middle of the park and drove at the Vale defence.  He cut the ball to the left for Manson who squared
to the centre of the 18 yard box where Sam Mackay was unmarked and he had all
the time in the world to fire home.

0 – 3

Academy were not done there as Davie Allan picked up a though
ball from Sam Mackay, skipped past his defender in the box and rifled home into the bottom
right hand corner of the net.

0 – 4

The final Academy chance came from substitute Lukasz
Geruzel. With back to goal 15 yards out he executed an over-head kick but his attempt smacked off the
cross-bar.

More made a couple of good saves in the dying minutes to
keep the clean sheet, and Academy complete 4 league games without conceding a
single goal.
