Academy run riot at Strathspey and top the table

Strathspey Thistle 0 –
Wick Academy 9

Wick Academy scored nine and kept a clean sheet away to
Strathspey Thistle, Sam Mackay grabbed his second hat-trick of the season,
scoring two in the first half with Davie Allan also scoring before the break.
In the second half Mackay completed his hat-trick, Richard Macadie and Gary
Weir both scored doubles and Lukasz Geruzel was also on the score sheet.

Nairn County 0 – Brora Rangers 2

Brora Rangers came away with all three points away to Nairn
County with a goal in each half, before Brora scored they had keeper Joe Malin
to thank for keeping them in the game. Brora took the lead when they were
awarded a penalty which Zander Sutherland tucked away to give Brora the lead.
In the second half Nairn dominated play but could not break down a well
marshalled Brora back line and they were made to pay when Andrew Greig hit them
with a killer second to wrap up the points.

Huntly 4 – Lossiemouth 1

Huntly continued their good start to the season with a 4-1
win at home to Lossiemouth; Huntly took the lead when a free kick was laid back
by David Booth to the near post area for Marek Madle to tap home. Lossiemouth
equalised when a Christopher Ross header struck the bar and Darren Bailey was
on hand to tuck home the rebound. Huntly scored two quick goals before halftime
to restore their lead, Craig Dorrat was on hand to score both with his head.
The scoring was completed in the second half when Liam Archibald scored an own
goal.

Buckie Thistle 2 – Fraserburgh 1

Buckie Thistle got their first league win of the season
thank to 2-1 win at home to Fraserburgh, Aaron Conway scored the first after
seven minutes when he caught out the Broch Keeper with a free kick with the
Broch keeper expecting a cross Conway floated the ball into the space, two
minutes later Conway turned provider for Graeme Stewart to nod in Conway's
cross at the back post. Fraserburgh managed to pull a goal back not long after
halftime when Grant Noble turned his man and fired the ball into the top corner

Clachnacuddin 1 – Cove Rangers 4

Cove got all three points away to Clach, the first came from
a Ryan Stott penalty, Stott added his and Cove's second after he latched onto a
through ball and beat the keeper, Blair Yule added a third just before halftime
reacting quickest after his initial shot had been saved. Clach gave themselves a
lifeline when Neil Macdonald pulled a goal back but Cove made sure of all three
points late on when Connor Scully scored with a free kick.

Turriff United 1 – Keith 1

Turriff and Keith shared the points at the Haughs, Keith
took the lead after twenty minutes thanks to a well placed header from Gary
McNamee but Turriff made sure they got a point in the second half to Gary
Harris who blasted the ball home from a corner.

Formartine United 2 – Forres Mechanics 1

Formartine recorded their first ever win over Forres thanks
a Michael Ewen double. Things didn't get off too a good start for Forres who
had Graham Fraser sent off after only ten minutes. Sustained pressure from
Formartine eventually payed off when Ewen was well placed at the back post to
finish off Daniel Parks cross. Ewen doubled Formartine's lead in the second
half when he held off a challenge to scoop the ball home. Lee Fraser added a
late consolation bundling the ball home.

Deveronvale 1 – Inverurie Locos 2

Inverurie got the better of Deveronvale despite finishing
the game with nine men, Scott Begg got the Locos off to the perfect start after
only four minutes. Deveronvale had a great chance to level the game but Scott
Fraser missed from the penalty spot. Locos first player to be sent off was
Kieran Adams but they doubled their lead on the hour mark when Dean Donaldson
headed home. Martin Charlesworth added a goal for the Vale just a minute later
before Steven Park was sent off late on to leave the Locos with only nine men
on the park. 

Rothes 3 – Fort William 2

Rothes saw off Fort William with 3-2 victory thanks to a
hat-rick from Liam Forbes. Fort got off to the worst possible start when Darren
Quigg was sent off after only two minutes for conceding a penalty; Forbes
managed to tuck home the penalty to give Rothes the lead. The second came when
Forbes headed home from a corner. Fort gave themselves a lifeline before half
time when Gordon McCarroll scored from 18 yards. Fort won a penalty themselves
in the second half when McCarroll was brought down, Sean Grant dispatched the
penalty to level the scores. Forbes completed his hat-trick midway through the
second half to ensure that the points stayed on Spey-side.
