Academy kick-off with a winning start against Buckie

Wick Academy 2 – Buckie Thistle 0

Wick
Academy started this
season as they finished the last with a home win. This came against Buckie
Thistle, Gary Weir saw a penalty come back off the post before Gary Manson
opened the scoring in the first half. Richard Macadie added a second during the
second half. The best chance for Buckie came in the second half when an Aaron
Conway free kick forced James More into making a great save.

 

Brora Rangers 5 – Clachnacuddin 1

Brora turned on the style at home to Clach and got off to
the perfect start with Ross Tokely firing them ahead inside two minutes. Steven
Mackay added a second after he got on the end of Andrew Grieg's cross. Ritchie
Hart added a third with a free kick and then he added his second from long
range just before half time. Gordon Morrison pulled one back for Clach but Steven
Mackay added his second to complete the scoring.

 

Cove Rangers 2 – Huntly 2

Champions Cove Rangers had to come from two goals behind to
grab a share of the points at home to Huntly, Neale Davidson gave Huntly a half
time lead before David Booth added a second early in the second half, Cove
pulled one back through Jamie Mclauchlan before grabbing the equaliser from
Ryan Stott.

 

Forres Mechanics 2 – Rothes 0

Forres won the Moray derby against Rothes at Mosset Park,
the first half was an even affair but Forres took the lead four minutes before
half time, Andrew Fraser firing the ball home. Forres made sure of the points
in the second half when Scott Lawrie scored from close range.

 

Fort William 2 – Turriff United 4

Turriff came away from Fort William with the three points
which included a Gary Harris hat-trick, Harris put Turriff one up but Fort
equalised through Gordon MacCarrol, Harris completed his hat-trick with two
quick-fire goals before half time but MacCarrol pulled a goal back just after
the restart. Turriff made sure of all three points when Stuart Cumming scored.

 

Fraserburgh 1 – Nairn County 0

Fraserburgh were victorious in their game against Nairn even
though they missed a penalty, Willie West saw his penalty saved by Callum
Donaldson in the Nairn goal, however the Broch did take the lead when Scott
Barbour's cross from the left found Willie West. His powerful header was saved
superbly by Donaldson but the ball fell to Mark Cowie and he steered the ball
home.

 

Keith 1 – Deveronvale 4

Deveronvale saw off Keith at Kyonch Park by four goals to
one, Martin Charlesworth opened the scoring for the vale before Andy Macaskill
equalised. Johnny Smith then saw red for kicking out at a Vale player, not long
after and Martin Charlesworth then added his and Vales second to put them two –
one up. Colin Charlesworth added a third before Scott Fraser completed the
scoring with a fourth late one.

 

Lossiemouth 0 – Formartine United 3

Cammy Keith got his Formartine debut off to a dream start
with a hat-trick against Lossiemouth, he scored a quick-fire double in the
first half the second coming from the penalty spot, he completed his hat-trick
with a close range finish twelve minutes from time.

 

Strathspey Thistle 0 – Inverurie Locos 4

Inverurie Locos scored four without reply away to Strathspey
Thistle, last season's top scorer for the Locos Neil Gauld scored the first,
new signing Dean Donaldson grabbed the second, the third came direct from a
corner when the Strathspey keeper flapped at Andy Low's delivery and the ball
found the back of the net. Former St Johnston youth Greg Mitchell completed the
scoring.
