Half Time – Rothes 0 – Wick Academy 1

9 minutes into the second half and Scott Robison picks up a booking for a late tackle on Davie Allan.

Rothes make their first substitution just before the hour
mark, Scott Dunn coming on for Greg Simpson.

Academy passed up a great chance to double their lead. Davie
Allan marched into the box with ball at feet but his shot cannoned off the
post. It came back out to Macadie who squared it back to Allan but the normally
dependable hit-man had a fresh-air shot with only the keeper in his way.

Academy increased their advantage in the 69th
minute. James Pickles played a great ball through the heart of the Rothes
back-line. Richard Macadie beat the off-side trap, went one-on-one with keeper
Sim and slotted home with an ice-cool finish.

0 – 2

A minute later and Academy go 3 up.  Weir had a crack that was blocked, but he set
the ball up for Sam Mackay and he hammered home from 17 yards out.

0 – 3

It's just not Davie Allan's day as he again goes one-on-one with keeper Sim but slides his shot past the outside of the post.

It's all clicking now for the Scorries as Weir grabs his second
goal of the game. Stevie Cunningham and Sam Mackay had a really neat exchange
of one-touch passes before Cunningham set Weir up 6 yards from goal and he made
no mistake as he slotted home.
