Cove keep up title challenge
Cove Rangers' 2-0 victory at Nairn on Wednesday lifted
the Allan Park side to within a point of Forres Mechanics at the top of the
Highland League.
Ryan Stott and Danny Milne got the goals on a wet and
windy night at Station Park to keep Cove's title challenge on course, although
Forres have a game in hand following the postponement of their scheduled
midweek fixture against Keith.
Buckie Thistle moved to within two points of third-placed
Nairn after a 6-0 hammering of Rothes at Victoria Park. There were doubles for
Shawn Scott and Zander Sutherland, with Mark Chisholm and Shaun Wood also on
target.
Turriff United swept to a 4-1 victory over Huntly at
Christie Park. Robbie Allan's opener for Turriff was cancelled out by Neil Reid
but further goals from James Duguid, Paul Campbell and Dave McKenzie wrapped up
the points for the visitors.
Strathspey Thistle's scheduled encounter with Clach was
another one that fell victim to the weather.
