Highland League round-up
Tuesday & Wednesday March 27th & 28th
Can-Cans stretch their lead to 7 points
Neil Gauld hit a double for 10-man Inverurie Locos as
they earned a 3-3 draw with Fraserburgh at Bellslea Park on Wednesday night.
Graeme Stewart was red-carded midway through the first
half but the visitors emerged with a point as Gauld struck twice before
pressurising William West into conceding an own goal. Dean Cowie (penalty),
Bryan Hay and Scott Barbour were on target for Fraserburgh.
Nairn County mounted a second-half fightback to beat
Keith 3-1 at Kynoch Park. The Maroons led at the break courtesy of Craig
McGovern but Nairn turned things round with a double from Steven Mackay before
Conor Gethins completed the scoring.
A second-half
strike by Barry Somers was enough to give Huntly a 1-0 away win against
Strathspey Thistle.
Fort William achieved the rare feat of back-to-back clean
sheets as they drew 0-0 with Clach at Claggan Park. It followed on from Fort's
stalemate with Rothes at the weekend.
In the only Tuesday night fixture, Forres Mechanics went
seven points clear at the top of the table after a 4-0 win at Rothes. The goals
came from Kevin Duguid, Kyle Scott, Graham Fraser and Willie Barron.
