Can-Cans back on top after Scott double

Forres Mechanics returned to the summit of the Highland
League on Wednesday night after a comfortable 4-0 win at Fort William.

Kyle Scott struck twice in the first half but missed
the chance to complete his hat-trick when he had a penalty saved by Robbie
Donaldson late on.

Scott Moore and Kevin Duguid got the other goals for
the Can-Cans, who now hold a two-point lead over second-placed Cove Rangers
with both teams having played the same number of games.

Nairn County continued their rise up the table after
they gave Huntly a first-half mauling at Station Park.

Goals from Steven Mackay (2), Martin Macdonald, Conor
Gethins and Robbie Duncanson had Nairn on easy street by the break. Huntly
pulled one back through Michael Fyfe and it finished 5-1.

Inverurie Locos were 2-1 winners over Keith at Kynoch
Park. Clark Bain got the opener for Locos before Neil Gauld had a twice-taken
penalty saved by Keith keeper Murray Kinnaird.

Inverurie were then awarded a second spot-kick and
John Maitland tucked it away. Jamie Lennox reduced the deficit for the Maroons,
who had Kris Niddrie sent off in the closing stages.

Lossiemouth had a 2-0 away victory over Strathspey
Thistle courtesy of a Kevin Grant wonder strike and a stoppage-time penalty
from Nikki Smith.

In the Tuesday night match, Clach came from behind to
beat Rothes 3-1 at Grant Street.

Sean McKinstry put the visitors ahead from the penalty
spot but Clach hit back with goals from Colin Williamson, Chris Ross and Scott
Graham. Iain Macrae of Rothes was shown a straight red card near the end.
