Scorries' super comback stuns Clach

Academy produced a stunning late turnaround at Grant
Street Park
to come away with a memorable 2-1 victory over Clach. Trailing to a Mark Dougal
strike as the match entered its final four minutes, the Scorries snatched
victory from the jaws of defeat with superbly taken goals from Craig Shearer
and Stevie Cunningham.

It was a result that said much about the spirit and
commitment of this Academy side as they moved back above the Lilywhites into
12th place in the Highland League table.

Manager Davie Kirkwood
handed a first start this season to Michael Gray, and the vastly experienced
keeper looked on course for a clean sheet until Clach broke the deadlock in the
79th minute. Alan Pollock delivered a pass into the danger zone and Dougal
was there to side-foot it into the net.

Academy brought Shearer off the bench and it proved to be an
inspired move as the midfielder had a huge impact. Shearer's first touch was a
30-yard thunderbolt that was tipped over by keeper Stevie Dunn. With his second
touch he scored with a powerful header from the resultant corner.

One each after 87 minutes – but Academy weren't finished
yet. With 89 minutes on the clock, Cunningham let fly with a 30-yard effort
that sailed over Dunn's head and dipped under the crossbar to complete a
thrilling fightback.

Lossiemouth also came from behind to claim a 2-1 victory in
their home game against Inverurie Locos, a result that keeps the Coasters in
fourth spot ahead of their trip to Harmsworth
Park.

Marc Young put Locos in front with a close-range effort
after 12 minutes and they led until the 64th minute when Liam Archibald scored
with a fine effort from outside the box. Kevin Flett slotted home the winner
with five minutes to go after Ross Archibald's shot had been blocked by
Inverurie keeper Andy Reid.

The leaders Forres Mechanics continued their formidable home
form as they came from behind to beat Deveronvale 3-1.

Grant Noble gave the visitors the lead after five minutes
but the Can-Cans were level seven minutes later through a Kyle Scott header.
Nathan Sharp put Forres in front on the half-hour mark with another headed
effort and Kevin Duguid made sure of the victory with 10 minutes left.

The Mosset
Park men remain eight points
clear at the top.

First-half goals by Conor Gethins and Gregg Main were enough
to give second-placed Nairn
County a 2-0 win against
Strathspey Thistle in Grantown.

Cove Rangers struck twice in stoppage time to wrap up a 3-0
victory over champions Buckie Thistle.

Danny Milne got the opener six minutes into the second half.
The 90 minutes had come and gone when Daniel Park doubled Cove's lead, and
there was still time for Milne to add his second of the afternoon.

The result keeps the Allan Park outfit in third place, level
on points with Nairn but with an inferior goal difference.

Dean Donaldson gave Keith a first-half advantage over
Fraserburgh at Kynoch
Park, but goals from Mark
Cowie and Allan Hale either side of the hour mark secured a 2-1 win for the
visitors.

Mark Smith hit a hat-trick – a header, a shot from the edge
of the box and a penalty – in Formartine United's 4-1 victory over Brora
Rangers at North Lodge
Park. Colin Robertson was
also on target for the home side before Liam Baxter pulled one back from the
spot.

Goals from Russell Guild and David Booth (penalty) earned
Huntly a 2-0 win against an ever-improving Fort
William side at Christie
Park.

Rothes moved further away from the bottom three with a 2-1
win against Turriff United at Mackessack
Park. Stuart Massie's opener
for the Speysiders was cancelled out by a Jerry O'Driscoll spot-kick, but
Michael McKinnon struck in the closing stages to give Rothes all three points.
