Gunn went down after a clash in midfield and was carried off
by physio Ernie Mackay and assistant manager Tichie Hughes.

A well marshalled Keith defence dealt with seven second half
corners and several free kicks while Shearer caught  long range
efforts from Bokas, Martin Gunn, Grant Steven and Gary Manson. Another Manson
30 yard attempt went too high. The physically bigger and stronger Keith players
were winning most of the heading duels with the ball frequently balooning in
the air in the wind.

Midway through the half Sam Mackay raced down the left after
a quickly taken free kick but curled his shot beyond the back post. Cunningham
worked hard to create space for a close range shot only to see it diverted for
a corner. The home crowd were angry at the time taken for Keith's goalkicks and
free kicks for offside. Eventually keeper Shearer was warned by referee Ross.

As Academy tried to step up the pace their increased
aggression led to yellow cards for Shearer, Shaun Sinclair and Sam Mackay.

In a rare Keith attack on 75 minutes Andrew McAskill had his
free kick from 30 yards out on the left saved on the line by Bokas.

In stoppage time substitute Stewart Ross shaved Shearer's
right hand post with a drive from 15 yards.
