Just 2 minutes later and Keith had
got themselves back into the game, Sean Keith skipped past the Wick defence who
did not want to concede a foul in a dangerous place and he steered the ball low
into the net through the keepers legs.
Three minutes later on 25 minutes it was two each, the ball was worked left to
right to Sean Keith and he drove into the Wick box before placing the ball into
the top left corner.
On 38 minutes Keith took the lead, a long ball into the box found Cammy Keith
and he showed great control to take the ball down before riffling home a left
footed effort.
Half time Wick 2 – Keith 3
With just a minute of the second half played Wick were given a chance to draw
level, a low cross from Davie Allan bounced up and hit Adam Morrison on the
hand, the referee Craig Sim did not award the penalty but the nearside linesman
did, Gary Weir took the spot-kick but Shearer dived to his right to make a
fantastic two handed save.
On 52 minutes Jamie Lennox missed a sitter, a cross from the left was nodded
down by Sean Keith into the 6 yard box to Lennox and he somehow managed to head
wide of goal.
Academy made it 3-3 with a goal from sub Sam Mackay, Macadie knocked the ball
back to him on the edge of the box and he seemed to miss-hit his shot but it
caught out Shearer to nestle in the back of the net.
With 6 minutes to go Mackay ran at the Keith defence and from 20 yards his shot
fizzled just over the top corner of the goal. Keith then broke up the park and
a deep cross from the left found Sean Keith and he cut inside Gary Manson to
fire the ball into the back of the net to complete his hat-trick.
With a minute left Keith made sure of the victory, Wick's Andrew Macleod went
down in the Wick box with a nasty head wound but the ref failed to stop the
game, a cross came in and was controlled by Martin Gunn, James More then picked
the ball up and the ref awarded an indirect free kick to Keith in the Academy
penalty box. From the free kick Cammy Keith knocked the ball back to Jonathon Smith
and he blasted the ball home.
