Academy controlled the half but couldn't capitalise further, and they made Keith look pretty ordinary. Keith didn't threaten at all in the first half and Bokas had little to do.
Half Time 1 – 0
Stevie Cunningham had a glorious chance to double the lead with only 3 minutes of the second half played. Mackay slid him into the box and he went one-on-one with keeper Shearer, but Shearer made a good save with his feet.
In the 52nd minute as the rain started to really pelt down at the Harmsworth Park Academy scored their second goal. The Scorries broke out of defence and the ball was played up field to Alan from Macadie. He got the better of his defender, broke free into the box and fired his shot at target. Keeper Shearer managed to get a foot to it to take the sting off the shot but the ball managed to creep over the line.
2 – 0
With 61 minutes gone David Allan was in again managing to get the better of the Keith defence but was denied by keeper Shearer, the ball however came back out and Academy regained possession and at the second time of asking Allan slotted home.
3 – 0
Academy were playing some great football and with 66 minutes played Academy again broke down the right flank and keeper Shearer this time denied Stevie Cunningham a guild-edge chance as he blocked his shot at goal.
Academy went into a 4 goal lead shortly after. Alan Farquhar was played into the Keith box and spun past his defender, squared to David Allan and he slotted home into an empty net for his hat trick and his 7th league goal of this campaign.
4 – 0
It took 69 minutes before Keith had an attempt on goal. Daniel Park got a shot on target but Bokas made a great diving save to deny the Keith striker.
Keith made their first change with Dean Donaldson coming on for Sam MacKenzie.
Keith then pulled a goal back. The ball was played into the Academy box and the Scorries failed to clear their lines. It came back out to Lennox and he hammered it home through a crowded defence, the ball taking a bit of a deflection on it's way.
4 – 1
Keith made a double substitution with Craig and Harris coming on for Park and Cammy Keith and within seconds they scored again.
Keeper Andy Shearer punted the ball from a kick-out the full length of the park. All 3 Keith substitutes chased down the ball which bounced in the Academy penalty area, deceived Alan Bokas and unbelievably ended up in the back of the net.
4 – 2
Straight from kick-off Keith scored another. Substitute Gary Harris picked the ball up on the right, he looked off-side but the referee waved play-on. Harris crossed into the 6 yard box where an on-running Dean Donaldson headed in at the back post.
4 – 3
Keith really had their tails up and sensed they could pull something out of the fire. Academy changed Cowie for Cunningham, and Lamb for Campbell.
As Keith pushed for the equalizer Academy broke up field and the Davie Cowie broke free of his defender and ran in on goal but he scuffed his shot straight to keeper Shearer.
With time running out Alan Bokas made the save of the game. Substitute Richard Craig picked the ball up, dipped his shoulder and got past Alex lamb and sent a screamer of a shot from 15 yards out that looked goal-bound but Bokas got finger-tips to the ball to turn it onto the cross-bar and over the top for a corner.
Referee Fraser played 3 minutes of extra time before blowing the full-time whistle to the relief of the Harmsworth faithful.
Full Time 4 – 3
The win sees Academy go above Keith in the table into 7th place and provided the prefect tonic for next weekend's much anticipated 3rd round Scottish Cup game against Brechin City.
