Bill Mackay played for Academy in his heyday and Lindsay donated the trophy on behalf of Bill who sadly passed away last year.

The only games that Academy participated in during the 50's and 60's were Qualifying/Scottish Cup, and from 1954/5 the North Cup, and Bill scored many of the goals in these matches. He scored Academy's first ever North Cup goal in the 4-3 win at Brora on March 12, 1955 and then in a replay at Brora on Feb 14 1959 he scored 6 goals in Academy's 7-3 win.

Bill was also a prolific scorer for Keiss in the Rural League helping Keiss to win the league a few times as well as lots of Cup finals. Bill also featured for Caithness v Sutherland and Orkney.

Bill's grandson Richard Macadie has followed in his grandfather's footsteps with the Scorries, and continues the family tradition, managing to score multiple goals in competitive games. Richard scored 3 in the first 18 minutes at Rothes on Oct 11, 2008 and had 4 goals in the bag by half time in Academy's league opener against Strathspey Thistle. This didn't quite threaten his grand father's record of 6, but some day you just never know!
