Wick Academy Under 17's were
in action last Sunday the 22nd February, when they had an away trip
to Inverness Clachnacuddin U17's. This was the youngsters first game in almost 3
months, but they ran out 1-0 winners with Kieran Duffy getting the winning goal
in the 2nd 30 minute period of play.

The Clach youngsters had the
better of the possession on the 1st period but the Scorries settled
in better in the 2nd period and had 4 or 5 good chances with the bar
being hit a few times before Duffy grabbed the winner.

Paul Wares and Duffy linked
up well up-front, with Wares terrorising the Clach defence with his fast feet
and close control. Wares came close to scoring in the last 15 minutes with a
lob after a poor goal-keeper clearance, but his attempt hit the post. Liam
Sutherland was also unlucky not to score on two or three occasions after
getting his head onto crossed balls from Wares.

Jordan Low from Orkney was
solid in the heart of the Academy defence and Academy keeper Daniel
Budge didn't have too much to do but took crosses well and had a fine
one-on-one save just past the hour mark.

Final Score 0 – 1
