15 minutes in and Academy are still playing very well, Cowie has been through on-on-one with the keeper but Shearer again denied the Scorries with another in a series of fine saves. Even Academy physio Pat Miller had a spell on the park to attend an injury, but by the time he reached the opposition penalty box the injured played had recovered.
Keith take the lead against the run of play with just over an hour on the clock. Gary Nicol is played into the box and he scored with a low drive past More into the corner of the net.
1 – 0
David Allan has come on for Shaun Sinclair and Stevie Cunningham has switched to right back.
In typical Academy fashion they come roaring straight back into the game. Substitute Allan picked the ball up about 25 yards out and past to Cowie who chipped the keeper from an acute angle at the edge of the 6 yard box.
1 – 1
Minutes later Academy stunned the home crowd by taking the lead. Craig Shearer slid a pass through the Keith defensive back-line to Macadie who took it wide before squaring to Bryan McKiddie in the middle of the box and he slotted home for his first Academy league goal.
1 – 2
Academy came within inches of increasing their lead further when Stewart Ross smacked the ball off the cross-bar from a 19 yard free kick. The ball came back out and was cleared for a corner kick. From the corner the ball fell to David Allan amongst a melee of players and he back-heeled the ball into the net to claim his first Academy league goal, and put Academy two goals up with 15 minutes left to play.
1 – 3
Neither side can add to the scoring and referee McNab blows for full-time to the cheers of the Academy supporters. In previous games at Kynoch Park Academy have managed a 1-1 draw in a Highland League Cup game in March 2001, but this is the first league points that the boys have taken home with them, so it's an historical victory and one that may dent Keith's title challenge.
Final Score 1 – 3
