behind the Saint's defence and he slotted home.

advantage. They have also had several chances to increase their lead with Weir
and Cowie both coming close. Club captain Martin Gunn also had the Academy
supporters on their feet as he tried a 40 yard lob with keeper Hutchison off
his line, but it went inches wide of target.
With 5 minutes of the game left Gary Weir writes himself into the histry-books as he became the first Academy player to score a hat-trick in the Scottish Cup. Cowie and substitute Cunningham combined well before Cunningham set up Weir who steered the ball into a gapping net with the St Cuthbert's defence all at sea.
