Academy had the final attacking move of the half when Manson did well up the left wing before slotting the ball infield to Farquhar. He played the ball square to Macadie but he scorched his 25 yard effort over the top of the bar.

Caley started the second half brightly and Academy survived an early scare as Finnis drifted into the back post and got his head to a crossed ball but he sent his effort just wide of the post.
Both sides rang the changes with just over an hour gone. Nigel MacKenzie and Stevie Cunningham coming on for Farquhar and Macadie, and Park and Ross coming on for Shane Sutherland and Zander Sutherland.
Mackenzie for Wick and Ross for Caley made a difference to the game, both taking the pace up a level and attempting to turn run at people when-ever they got the ball.
MacMillan kept Academy in the game with 68 minutes played when he made another good diving save to turn a 25 yard drive from Shinnie round the post for a corner.
Substitute Nicolas Ross was next to threaten two minutes later as he cut inside the Academy box with ball at feet but his effort smacked off the outside of MacMillan's left hand post.
Academy kept plugging away and MacKenzie and Cunningham both firing good crosses into the Caley box, bit the ball just wouldn't fall to an Academy player.
With three minutes left however it looked as if the chance had come. Gunn found himself in the middle of the box and wound himself up to smack a high spiralling ball, but he mistimed his effort from only six yards out and it went well wide of target.
Then with time ticking away MacMillan punted a long clearance up-field that bounced through the Caley defence and Cunningham went one-on-one with keeper Allison only to be called back to what must have been a very tight off-side call by the far-side lines-man.
Caley delivered the sucker-punch with two minutes of injury time played. Carrol ran into the box and got a shot on target that MacMillan did well to block, but the re-bound fell straight at Carrol's feet and he made no mistake in slotting home at the second attempt.
