MacMillan then denied Dean Donaldson twice in the last
minutes of the half.

The fist attempt came as Donaldson cut inside the box with
ball at his feet and struck a cracker that was heading for the top corner.
MacMillan made a diving save and got a hand to the ball to turn it over for a
corner kick.

A minute later and Donaldson tried his hand again, this time
from just outside the box he got a shot on target that MacMillan dived across
to his left to palm away for another corner.

Half Time 0 – 1

Academy started the second half in better form and Weir
almost level the game as he showed some great skill driving the through the
middle of the Keith defence with a couple of step-overs but his drive from 18
yards out skimmed past the outside of Shearers left hand post.

3 minutes later Cowie scorched down the right wing,  cut inside the last defender shot at target
but keeper Shearer was well positioned to make the save.

That was followed by a similar attempt by Craig Shearer and
he held his head in his hands as his 18 yard attempt shaved the outside of the
left hand post.

Keith made their first change with 64 minutes on the clock,
with Michael Fyfe coming off for Derek Smith. Smith almost made an immediate
impact, as within minutes of coming on he got his head to a crossed ball and
forced MacMillan into a great save as he got a hand to the ball and turned it
over the top of goal.

Weir cam close for Academy yet again in the 77th
minute as he had another shot at goal, but again the ball went inches past the
outside of keeper Shearer's left hand post.

MacMillan was proving to be a thorn in Keith's side as he
made yet another great save. This time the ball was punted up-field and Martin
Wood managed to collect it, ran into the box and fired his shot on target, but
MacMillan had his angles spot-on and he saved low with his feet.

Keith's second goal came in the 69th minute.
Stuart Walker managed to cut inside Shaun Sinclair and tried a speculative
attempt from about 20 yards out. MacMillan went down to his right for it and
looked to have it well covered, but the ball took a wicked bobble just in front
of him and ended up in the back of the net.

0 – 2

Keith's third came in the 83rd minute following
some slack defending by Academy giving the ball away. Substitute Derek Smith was
played through the middle of the Academy defence with a great ball from Stuart
Walker and he slotted home under the body of MacMillan from about 10 yards out.

0 – 3

3 minutes from time Keith scored another. MacMillan came out
of his goal for a back pass and was closed down by Craig Morrison who managed
to block MacMillan's kick-out. Both players turned to get to the ball and
seemed to get in each others way with Morrison going down in the box. Referee
Frew blew for quite a harsh looking penalty kick, and booked MacMillan for the
challenge. Jamie Lennox slotted home the PK.

0 – 4

Academy managed to pull a consolation goal back in the final
minute if the game. Macadie sent a high ball into the box from the right hand
side and it fell to Manson in the middle of the box. He took one touch to
control the ball and then slotted home from 8 yards out.

Final Score 1 – 4
