The game is fairly even, with Academy sharing good spells of position, but we just can’t seem to be able to penetrate the Clach defence.

James More has a great one handed save before the half-time whistle and Lawrie has a good attempt that went just wide of the post.

Half time 1 – 0

With 6 minutes of the second half played Academy level the game. Craig Shearer takes an Academy corner that results in a scramble in the Clach box. The ball eventually falls to Gary Manson who squared it across goal where Richard Macadie was on-hand to slot home his 4th league goal of the season.

1 – 1

Just after the hour captain Martin Gunn is substituted for Martin Sutherland. Gunn looks as if he may have picked up a knock.

Richard Macadie almost scores his second of the game as he let fly with a 20 yard screamer that keeper Hastie got finger-tips to, turning the ball around his post for a corner-kick.

Martin Sutherland also finds himself in on goal with 15 minutes left to play but he shoots straight at keeper Hastie. Looks like a tense end to the game is in store!

Academy has another great chance to pull ahead, when Stewart Ross has a flashing header across goal that was inches wide of target.

Martin Sutherland picked up an injury in the 83rd minute and is replaced by young Grant MacNab. MacNab almost makes a dream debut as within 2 minutes of being on the field he runs onto a through ball and hits as sweet a strike as you are likely to see from 25 yards that went inches over the top of the Clach cross-bar.

Neither team can muster-up a winner, so the game ends with the points shared, and both teams are now off to watch the Scotland v Italy game.

"Come on Scotland"

Full time 1 – 1

So a point today sees Academy go back above Forres into 9th place, but this looks as if it won’t last for long, as with only fifteen minutes left Huntly are 2 – 0 up against in-form Inverurie Locos.
