Ewan Wood son of Wick Academy committee member Ken is the commercial manager with Carlisle United FC. They run a lottery called the ‘Blues Lotto’. Over the last few months Ken has been promoting the lotto in Caithness, and has managed to get the following 5 syndicates signed up for it:
- Stewart’s Stormers (Co Colin Stewart)
- Patty’s Prize Fighters (Co Pat Miller)
- Harper’s Heroes (Co Clair Harper)
- Harrold Brothers Butchers (Co Johnny Harrold)
- Gunn & Co (Co Martin Gunn)
As a result of the sterling work that Ken has done Carlisle have very kindly returned the favour and they have sponsored our club captain Martin Gunn.

Academy players can be sponsored for £50 per season, and this money goes towards their training expenses.
