The SFA have voted through some changes to the format of the Scottish Cup for this coming season. The qualifying cup competitions have been scrapped and all Highland League teams will now join the competition in the first round. The competition will now be played over 8 rounds, with the SPL sides entering the competition at the last 32 stage.
The Scottish Qualifying Cup will be replaced by a new SFA Challenge Cup.
The first round draw for the new SFA Challenge Cup was made last night at the Highland League Awards dinner in the Newton Hotel in Nairn last night. Academy has an away tie to Huntly on the 11th of August.
