It’s been quite a few weeks for visitors to the Harmsworth Park. As reported here, it all started at the end of September with 5 lads doing a marathon charity fundraiser driving non-stop from John O’Groats to Lands End visiting 88 football clubs from 22 different leagues along the way. We then had the "East Sussex branch" of the Wick Academy supporters club, Jason Cook and Mark Stephenson, who fancied a taste of Highland League football.
Last weekend saw the trend of visitors continue, but this chap was from even further away, from Glen Cove New York no-less! William Halliday, pictured below, was coming to Caithness for a holiday, and had emailed into the club asking for details of what games were on. We emailed him back to say that we’d be delighted to see him for the Inverurie game, and true to his word he appeared at the game. It was nice to meet you William, and I hope you enjoyed the match. He’s informed us that he’s coming back in March for another game, so we’ll be delighted to see him again then.
The Harmsworth Park must have this special effect on people, as both Jason and Mark are also planning coming back for the Rothes game at the end of March.
As they say in Caithness, "Haste Ye back!"
